Bella Hunter and Gary Friedman wedding: Guests spoil dress reveal

Guests who attended Bella Hunter and Gary Friedman’s million-dollar nuptials were clearly asked not to post images of the bride and groom, however one Aussie model couldn’t help himself.

It’s been more than three weeks since Australian DJ Bella Hunter tied the knot with her billionaire partner Gary Friedman, however no images of the blushing bride have appeared online - aside from one.

Aussie model Jay Lyon shared a snap of Hunter in her wedding dress, despite rumours of the newlyweds having an exclusive with an international glossy magazine.

Touted by guests as the no expense spared wedding of the century, no image of the bride and groom have been posted to social media - just hundreds of selfies and venue shots of the up-market Six Senses Resort in Ibiza.

Granted Lyon’s snap of Hunter, the daughter of late rock musician Marc Hunter, was just the back of the dress, however it’s clear guests were asked to keep images of the bride and groom to themselves to maintain the exclusivity of the wedding.

“A wedding for the ages!! What a weekend celebrating with the best,” Lyon, who has appeared on hit series The Hills and The City, captioned the image.

Thirty three-year-old Hunter, who in recent years has been based in Los Angeles, walked down the aisle with 65-year-old American furniture retailer Friedman late last month.

Friedman, who owns Restoration Hardware, a popular chain of homewares stores, has an estimated net worth of $2 billion. The pair were engaged last August.

Social media bans at high profile weddings are nothing new.

It is believed guests who attended Tamie Ingham and Guillaume Brahimi’s Paris nuptials, were also asked to refrain sharing snaps of the bride and groom.

They seem to have waited for Ingham to post some images before they shared photographs of the lavish affair.

The Brahimi-Ingham wedding featured a cast of high profile media stars but it was hard to find evidence the chef’s four children were among the glitterati.

As images of the Sydney chef’s wedding to the chicken heiress began to flood social media recently, family insiders said Brahimi’s four children to first wife Sanchia Curran — Constance, Honor, Violette and Loïc — had not attended the wedding.

Guests at the luxe wedding included Lachlan and Sarah Murdoch, NOVA star Michael “Wippa” Wipfli and wife Lisa, ironman Grant Kenny and his makeup artist girlfriend Stojanka Bulic, fashion designer Michael Lo Sordo, socialite Rey Vakili, the bride’s business partner, Jasmine Stefanovic and her husband, Nine personality Karl, whose absence from Nine’s Today show chair has been sorely noted.

The couple wed at Musee Rodin before kicking up their heels afterwards at celebrated French restaurant Maxim’s, which was opened in 1893 by Maxime Gaillard and became a celebrity hotspot though Gaillard famously struggled to pay his bills.

On stage silence a new test for Walker

Danielle Walker has had her fair share of heckles and laughs throughout her career in stand up, however the silence of the screen has the comedian questioning whether she has done a decent job in ABC/CBS comedy series, Gold Diggers.

“I’ve never really acted before and I haven’t been to much theatre so it was all a bit daunting and I was worried I would stick out like a sore thumb as the one who was not OK to act,” Ashfield-based Walker said.

“But everyone on set was so supportive and made me feel like I did a good job, so hopefully they weren’t lying. They are all such good actors so they could have been lying,” she said.

As for her award-winning co-lead, Claire Lovering, her appearance in the series, which follows the sisters who are on a mission to, as Gert puts it, find “newly minted dumb-dumbs and/or dying aristocrats”, solidified her confidence, with the role marking her sixth production in the past year after a decade of trying to crack the industry.

Dan’s new life under construction

Three months after resigning from global real estate firm Colliers International, Dan Walker has found another job.

Sunday Confidential can reveal the 36-year-old is now working for labour hire company Christies People.

Christies People specialises in labour hire for the civil and construction industries across NSW.

Walker’s name has been in the headlines since he was picked up by police officers at a shopping centre on May 17 and charged at Newtown Police Station in Sydney with two counts of dishonestly obtaining financial advantage.

Walker appeared in Manly Court on Wednesday where he pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Sunday Confidential also revealed last week that Walker’s personal life was imploding, with his marriage of seven years coming to an end after his partner of 12 years left him. Popular hairdresser Tarryn Cherniayeff has split with Walker, with the pair barely on talking terms.

His matter is next listed for mention (Police) on August 10.

Keating smokes way through Paris

Avalon Keating, the notoriously private daughter of fashion designer Amber Symond, has surfaced in France.

The 17-year-old model shared a photograph of herself to her close friends and family on social media site Instagram this week, smoking a cigarette in the city of love.

Wearing a $1300 sky blue slip dress by cult brand Loewe, the teen looks far beyond her young years in the photograph, which shows her pulling her hair back, while holding a cigarette.

Avalon, named after Bryan Ferry’s hit song, captioned the image, “Only for Paris”.

Despite her mother Amber Symond and father Patrick having a profile – Patrick is the only son of former prime minister Paul Keating – Avalon has managed to fly under the radar for much of her life.

Not long ago, she walked for her mother’s Australian fashion label Common Hours, but hasn’t been seen around since.
