Former Bachelor stars Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne have one of the most popular podcasts around the country thanks to their candid conversations about sex and dating, and their partners have no qualms about their oversharing.
Hockley, 33, is dating boyfriend of one year, tennis player, Jordan Thompson, while Byrne, 35, is engaged to season 5 Bachelor, Matthew Johnson.
“Jordan is a very private person, he doesn’t share a lot on social media,” said Hockley.
“He doesn’t care about being in the public eye but he doesn’t mind what I do. It’s about having a level of respect and checking in with certain things.”
Byrne, who has two children with Johnson, 34 - Marlie, two, and Lola, nine months, said he’s easygoing.
“We’ve spoken about it a lot,” Byrne said.
“Obviously, I would never share anything he’s not comfortable with and if there’s ever anything that I feel I need his opinion on I’ll let him listen and he can decide. But he’s always said to me, ‘If the conversation you’re having is funny and it makes people laugh then just go for it. I don’t really mind.’ Which is great.”
The duo discuss very intimate topics on their Life Uncut podcast.
Byrne has spoken openly about her sex life with Johnson while Hockley once documented freezing her eggs.
The pair will make their radio debut next year and they have vowed to remain unfiltered despite being in a cutthroat industry that leaves very little room for error.
“As a general rule, I don’t support cancel culture and I don’t like the idea of it,” Hockley said.
“People in general make mistakes, it’s human nature... I don’t like this idea of everyone jumping on board and pile-ons.
“If you’re not happy with something in your life especially on social media, you just have to hit unfollow, you don’t have to jump on this bandwagon of online bullying.”
Byrne revealed why she believes the growing phenomenon of cancel culture is problematic.
“The problem with cancel culture is that there’s so many limitations around learning,” Byrne said.
“We learn so much from making mistakes, we learn so much from the conversations that come from making mistakes and I think for everyone it’s such a great tool for us to do better collectively.”
Byrne was supposed to tie the knot with Johnson this month but the couple were forced to postpone their wedding again due to the Covid pandemic.
“The wedding was supposed to be in November, but it’s been pushed back to the end of next year just because we wanted to still have a summer wedding,” she said.
The Life Uncut Radio Show will premiere on the KIIS Network next year.
