Reality TV star Kim Kardashian reportedly makes $1 million for a single Instagram post and Confidential hears that her sister Khloe made close to that when she agreed to promote Aussie hair brand Mermade Hair last week.

An insider said the social media sensation was paid a six figure sum to post the hair waver tool to her 198 million followers and it sold out within hours.

Prior to Kardashian’s endorsement this week, Mermaid Hair had previously been plugged by various local influencers including Nadia Bartel and Skye Wheatley, but they do not have the same reach as the US reality star.

“It feels quite surreal and we have been overwhelmed with the positive feedback,” business owner, Tara Simich, said.

“The post is currently at 6 million views which is fantastic for global brand awareness. It’s been the biggest 24 hours of sales in Mermade history - we are thrilled.”

Confidential has contacted Kardashian for comment.

Kardashian’s mum, Kris Jenner, who serves as a manager to all five of her daughters - Kim, Khloe, Kourtney, Kendall and Kylie, once confirmed that they are each paid at least six figures per sponsored post and that they charge more for “pharmaceutical products” (ie: anything that is ingested or applied to the skin).

“My daughters are constantly getting offers to post something for a company, or a brand, on social media,” Jenner told CBS News’ Tracy Smith.

“So they’re - they have a fee for a post, or a fee for a story, a fee for Facebook, a fee for - you know - they have a fee schedule... definitely six figures.”

The sisters, who have a combined 1 billion Instagram followers, were once criticised for promoting diet products including appetite suppressing lollipops and weight loss shakes.

English actor, Jameela Jamil labelled Kim a “terrible and toxic influence on young girls” for endorsing diet culture.
