Bachelor in Paradise full cast revealed

A Bachelor In Paradise contestant attempted to flee from the back of a police car after he was caught drink driving, but was thwarted by a child lock.

Nathan Favro, 24, a reject from Ali Oetjen’s season of the Bachelorette and current participant on Bachelor in Paradise, was caught drink driving at Byron Bay on February 9.

About 3am police pulled him over after he failed to pause at a give way sign and breathalysed him.

He had a reading of .147, mid-range, losing his licence on the spot.

Police put him in the back seat of the patrol vehicle to take him to Byron Bay Police Station, however during the ride Favro attempted to flee the vehicle.

Police facts state: “Favro flung off his seatbelt and attempted to open the rear nearside passenger door by pushing hard on the door a number of times and also moving the handle up and down rapidly. Favro was attempting to flee from the vehicle.”

But the back doors are protected by a child lock and Favro was stuck in the car

Police facts say that Favro realised his mistake immediately, saying to officers “Yeah that was stupid I know”.

Favro attended Manly Local Court today on one charge of mid-range drink driving, where he lost his licence for three months, received a fine of $800 and will have an interlock device installed in his car when he gets his licence back.

His sentence was lessened because he underwent Traffic Offenders Rehabilitation Program (TORP) after his charge was laid.

His failed escape attempt earned him an infringement.

This was Favro’s first drink driving charge, however he had a string of driving related offences from 2012 to now, as well as two non-vehicle related charges in 2013 and 2015.

He is the latest in a long list of reality television wannabes facing legal troubles.

Two weeks ago Married At First Sight “villain” Ines Basic was sentenced after being caught drink driving on Christmas Day last year.

She was charged with mid-range drink driving and contravening a police order and sentenced to 70 hours community service and disqualified from driving for three months.

A month ago Ines’ fellow contestant Cyrell Paul was also caught low-range drink driving and posted her NSW Police facts sheet online.

Another contestant from Ali Oetjen’s season of The Bachelorette, Damien Rider, was in court on charges of alleged trespassing and assault.

Married At First Sight 2018 contestant Telv Williams is currently before the courts for alleged assault and drug possession charges. He has yet to plead to the charges.
