Bachelor Australia star Jay Lal’s ‘love’ admission on first seeing Jimmy Nicholson

Jimmy Nicholson’s search for love is continuing on the Bachelor and one contestant has opened up on her feelings for the show’s main man.

Nutritionist Jacinta ‘Jay’ Lal says it most definitely wasn’t love at first sight when she met Bachelor star Jimmy Nicholson on the reality show.

Lal, 31, immediately hit it off with the pilot as the first episode played out last week, securing a special key that allows her to spend time with Nicholson whenever she wanted.

“I have never ever experienced love at first sight,” Lal told Confidential.

“I can see an attractive guy and know he is good looking or hot but it is not until I really get to know the person that I can see whether there will be a future.”

The reality series is filmed months in advance of episodes going to air on Channel 10 with contestants having to keep tight lipped to avoid spoilers.

Lal was therefore careful with her words when asked if she was in love with Nicholson now.

“I don’t know if I can answer that,” she laughed.

Online betting agency Sportsbet has marketing manager Holly Kingston as outright favourite to win Nicholson’s heart on the series with odds of $1.50, ahead of Brooke Cleal at $6, Lily Price at $8.50 and Lal at $10.

Some 23 women entered the competition in the series premiere, with 19 remaining.

Lal said she wasn’t worried about any rivalry or backlash from the other contestants after she scored the key to the ‘Business Class Lounge’.

“I didn’t like to see it as a competition so as much as there was a little bit of bitchiness, I tried to stay out of it,” she said. “If they were in my position, they would have done the same thing. I wasn’t too worried initially about how they’d feel because I thought they would be doing the same thing as me. It didn’t really bother me to be.”
