JACOB Woodhouse will be carrying some extra weight when he takes to the Ninja Warrior course — 24k gold underwear.

The former Rugby player will tonight wear $15,000 Aussie Bum underwear — which were created to celebrate Australia’s gold rush era.

“I was a part of the 24k gold underwear campaign that Aussie Bum initially ran,” Woodhouse said.

“When I found out that my application of Ninja Warrior had progressed, the idea of following the gold theme was thrown in the air and I was very excited about it.

“I was told I’m not allowed to get them wet so let’s hope I don’t have to worry about the stress of drying gold thread after the heat.”

When asked whether he thought the sexy attire would help or hinder his performance, Woodhouse said: “Seeing as I’m wearing the most minimal clothing possible I think it’s definitely going to help my performance. The fact that they are also gold means I need to step up to the plate and perform to the standard of my clothing. In saying that there is some pressure to perform to that standard but fingers crossed I can keep myself calm and collected on the night to perform to the best of my ability.”

Woodhouse was inspired to attempt the now famous obstacle after watching the series in England.

“I was living in England playing professional rugby when I first watched the Ninja Warrior series and ever since then I had a burning need to attempt the course,” he said.

“I love challenging myself physically and mentally and this course definitely looked like it offered both.

“After being back in Australia and seeing the first series run on Nine, I told myself I have to give this a crack.

“I applied myself as soon as I saw the application adverts and now here I am.”
