THE rumour of a Dundee reboot has left celebrities wanting more with some claiming they were trolled by Australia — and now there’s only one way to make it up to them.
Media industry professionals in the US and stars including Donald Trump Jr have banded together over a Super Bowl ad which appeared as a trailer for the iconic Australian movie remake.
“Not gonna lie, Kenny Powers as Crocodile Dundee would be the best thing to home out of Hollywood in decades,” Donald Trump Jr wrote on Twitter, referring to the character Danny McBride portrays in US comedy Eastbound & Down.
Now, many have hit back with director Grant Wilson saying, “Australia just trolled me! I want to see that Crocodile Dundee movie,” putting pressure to get the movie off the ground.
Today, Ruby Rose, who starred in the initial ad, retweeted The Daily Telegraph, encouraging people to make the movie happen.
“Amazing,” she wrote online.
A petition has been set up online which has already amassed thousands of signatures and people worldwide are urged to join the campaign below.

‘What day do I start ...’: Hollywood director/producer Judd Apatow
Judd Apatow, the director behind The 40 Year Old Virgin and Knocked Up has voiced his support for a Dundee reboot, saying: “What day do I start”.
Apatow has history with Danny McBride — aka Brian Dundee, the long lost son of Mick ‘Crocodile’ Dundee (Paul Hogan) — having worked with him on 2008 stoner comedy Pineapple Express.
Apatow is probably best known for his involvement with Bridesmaids, Anchorman, Superbad, Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Trainwreck.
Dundee is back! Well, actually, heâs missing in the Outback and itâs up to me and Danny McBride to find him. Official trailer for @DundeeMovie coming soon. #DundeeMovie https://t.co/AxI7k7kePu

Why Margot Robbie should be the next Mick Dundee
Hollywood’s newest darling Margot Robbie is the obvious pick to play croc wrestling Aussie hero Mick Dundee.
At least that’s the view of columnist Victoria Hannaford, who reckons a rebooted film would need to move with the times and shed its old macho image.
Last year’s blockbuster action film Wonder Woman, which broke box office records and raked in more than US$820 million, shows cinemagoers are crying out for female leads.
“Swap the gender of the lead in a real reboot, and you have a whole new world opening up, both in terms of narrative and audience figures,” Hannaford writes.
“Think about it. Robbie is a unifying casting choice because men and women either love her or want to be her.”
Robbie could be Oscars bound after her stand out role in biopic I, Tonya.
I was 100% on board for that Danny McBride Crocodile Dundee movie and they pulled the rug right out from under me, you have made a powerful enemy today Australia

I agree! It can still happen. Dundee came to America. Now he has a kid he didnât know about. What day do I start shooting? https://t.co/dBsHAB4YDR

Dundee ad a ‘dead set ripper’
The US isn’t beating around the bush in its love for Mick Dundee, with experts calling it a “dead set ripper”.
Bleacher Report gave Crocodile Dundee’s latest outing an “A”, stating as an advertisement for Australia it was “pretty effective” with the cameo from Paul Hogan the “icing on the cake”.

A Dundee reboot: why the bloody hell not?
Columnist Paul Syvret recalls 1986 fondly — he was 20, complete with a mullet and a beat up old Valiant, Bob Hawke was PM and the world met... Mick Dundee.
But Syvret warns us, “I, along with millions of others, enjoyed the first film, the second sucked kangaroo poo, and I didn’t bother with the third.
“So is it time to reboot the franchise? Why the bloody hell not?”
I need that Crocodile Dundee sequel. Now.

Editorial: Make Dundee spoof just a rehearsal
While the Philly Eagles might technically have been the winners of this year’s Super Bowl, Australian tourism was probably the real winner, according to the Daily Telegraph’s editorial.
Little wonder, then, that a movement instantly began to turn the mock Croc into the real deal. Fans worldwide crave an actual sequel based on Tourism Australia’s ad.
“Come on, Sydney. Come on, Australia. It’s time to make a movie!”.
I was concerned at first but now that itâs been revealed as an ad campaign, Iâm kind of sad I wonât get to see #Dundee Donât want it but tell me I canât have it? I want it! LOL I just miss my mates Down Under...ð¦ðº

The Shark backs Croc return
Sharks and crocodiles don’t normally mix well in the wild, but this “Great White” has backed a return of Crocodile Dundee.
Legendary Aussie golfer Greg Norman has taken to Twitter, calling for a “#BringBackDundee”.
“Let’s bring Australia to the big screen, AGAIN! @RebelWilson @MargotRobbie @RealHughJackman @chrishemsworth,” he tweeted, tagging a host of Aussie greats.

Annastacia Palaszczuk Dundee to head north
Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said her Government, through Screen Queensland, would consider any approach from backers wanting to produce another Crocodile Dundee film in Queensland.
“Queensland has just had one of its best years in terms of film production, with blockbusters like Aquaman and other productions increasing the spend to $214 million last financial year,” she said.
