Aussie model Elle Macpherson steps out of isolation in Miami

Aussie supermodel Elle Macpherson was spotted on the streets of her new hometown of Miami, as lockdown restrictions continue to slowly lift in the US.

She has all but retired from the modelling game following 40 years at the top and this week the now notoriously private Elle Macpherson made a rare appearance in her newly adopted home of Miami in the US.

The 57-year-old Sutherland Shire export, who remains single after her high profile split from her billionaire beau Jeff Soffer in 2017, was seen looking in high spirits as she left a business meeting with a male companion as lockdown restrictions continue to slowly lift in the US.

It’s a relatively unique sighting of the woman dubbed “The Body” in her heyday, with the mum-of-two essentially stepping away from the spotlight in 2016 after ending her 25-year licensing agreement with Bendon Lingerie.

Since then Macpherson has pivoted into vitamins and skincare with her WelleCo supplement brand now sold worldwide.

“I also didn’t want to be in front of the camera too much because I was a bit shy,” Macpherson told guests last month at a real estate conference on the Gold Coast where she was speaking in her new role of entrepreneurial guru.

“It was an incredible journey (with Bendon). I learned so much along the way. I just had an open mind and an open heart and I was observant, and when you do that miracles happen.

“It wasn’t so much that I was keenly business-minded … one of the things that resonated with me was being less in front of the camera but more with my children and still making an income, so it was more like a resolution.”

Macpherson was one of the first models to ink a long-term licensing deal with a major retailer. Her deal with Bendon – groundbreaking at the time – netted her around
$3 million per year for the duration of the deal.

Now worth an estimated $100 million, Macpherson also reportedly bagged $53 million as part of her pre-nup with Soffer, as well as the couple’s $23 million Miami mansion.
