If she had her time again, Angie Kent says she would have liked to appear on The Bachelorette as a pansexual.

The popular reality TV star and podcaster said she “didn’t know it was an option” after seeing promos for the next season of The Bachelorette, which will be a world first with both male and female contestants vying for the attention of bisexual Brooke Blurton.

“I have always been pansexual but I guess I have never really spoken about it,” Kent told Confidential. “It is a society thing. I never really got to explore it and now I am like, ‘go girl, get amongst it’.”

Kent, 31, appeared on the fifth season of The Bachelorette in 2019 after previously winning over Australia with her candid views on Gogglebox Australia alongside best mate, Yvie Jones.

She chose handsome suitor Carlin Sterritt but the couple separated some time after.

“I don’t feel cheated by it because I think that I wasn’t at the stage of probably exploring it myself,” she explained. “I have always been pansexual but I’ve never really spoken about it, only to my friends. I probably needed that time and the heartbreak to realise I wanted to explore it more. If I did it again, I would want that option. Everything happens for a reason.”

She added: “I don’t know what it would be like because I am so different to what I was like two years ago.”

Pansexuality is to be attracted to a person regardless of their gender.

“Humans are humans, I don’t fall in love with the outer, I fall in love with the soul connection,” she said. “I don’t care what you are, as long as we connect. Gender is not a massive thing for me and never really has been. I have always dated dudes because it was expected of me.”

As for her dating life now, Kent said she had recently begun exploring her options.

“I haven’t done much dating since my break-up, I am only just starting now and lets just say I am not just on the straight scene anymore,” she said. “Life is for living.”
