REALITY television star Angie Kent has bought her first house — a secluded hinterland retreat on the Gold Coast.
Property records reveal Kent, who starred in the 2019 season of The Bachelorette, paid $615,000 for a three-bedroom, three-bathroom house on a huge 1065 sqm block in Tamborine Mountain.

And she’s so proud of the purchase, an Instagram account has even been set up in the home’s honour, called @jessicayurt.
Kent recently revealed on the social media platform that ‘buying my first home has been HUGE. A fair few tears, bulk sleepless nights and good ol anxiety making me feel like I’m Captain Cooked’.
The home is certainly huge, offering plenty of room for entertaining with large, indoor and outdoor living areas providing space and separation.
The living rooms upstairs and bedroom downstairs have access via timber doors to a three-level entertaining deck.
The other two bedrooms are upstairs and both open out on to either Juliet balconies or a deck.
The open plan living, dining and kitchen area also open onto the deck.
One of the bedrooms features a very romantic, open honeymoon bath and shower/toilet area with mood lighting.
Kent turned her original small-screen role on Foxtel/Channel 10’s Gogglebox into stints on I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here and then The Bachelorette.
She recently debuted her first podcast after signing a deal with Nova to produce 10 episodes of her own show ‘Angie Tries It’.
And she also has a film on the way — a low-budget horror flick starring opposite Wolf Creek villain John Jarratt and Lincoln Lewis, which is set for release in August.
But if she struggles to earn an income in the future, at least there is room at her new digs to accommodate a tenant or short-term holiday letting situation.
Selling agent Blake Wallis of First National Real Estate Tamborine Mountain said the property was “unique” and had lots of interest from potential buyers because of the space it offered.
Mr Wallis said character lifestyle properties in the region were in high demand, particularly since Covid-19.
“People are looking for something a bit out of the ordinary,” Mr Wallis said. “Something unique.
“Days on market are very low and listings are hard to get.”
