Adele’s presence felt at reporter Matt Doran’s Sydney wedding

He was forced to make a grovelling on-air apology to singer Adele after a shocking interview and even on his wedding day, Matt Doran couldn’t escape his gaffe.

Seven TV host Matt Doran and his TV producer fiancee Kendall Bora tied the knot in Sydney on Friday.

The pair said their vows two days out from Christmas during a ceremony at a private property accessibly only by boat on the Hawkesbury River.

It is believed the pair own the property together.

Doran’s name most recently hit the headlines after he was widely criticised for flying to the UK to interview singer Adele without listening to her new album, prompting him to issue a grovelling on-air apology, admitting he made a “terrible mistake”.

And Adele may not have been there in person, but her presence was certainly felt.

Even at his wedding, guests were making fun of Doran’s Adele gaffe which made headlines around the world, with Seven weatherman Sam Mac bringing a magazine cut out of the famous singer which he placed over his face pretending to be her.

The couple announced their engagement on New Year’s Eve 2020, with Doran taking to Instagram to reveal the news.

“I’m now the luckiest man in the cosmos“ he captioned the image.

The couple first started dating in late 2019 after being introduced by mutual friends.

Bora is the executive producer of rival network Nine’s Weekend Today.

Doran has opened up about their relationship in the past, telling The Daily Telegraph: “She is always furious that I am getting up an hour and a half later on Saturdays [and] swanning in to read the autocue, while she’s doing the hard work an hour and a half earlier.”
