Pip Edwards and Braith Anasta’s fleeting romance is over

She hit headlines for being the ‘other woman’ in the Michael Clarke-Jade Yarbrough circus earlier this year, but Confidential can reveal Pip Edwards recently caught the eye of another high-profile sportsman. Read who here.

Their romance may have been short-lived, however Saturday Confidential can reveal fashion designer Pip Edwards and former NRL player Braith Anasta recently gave a relationship a red hot go.

The couple were seeing each other for a few months before they called it quits.

“Pip and Braith know one another from both being a part of Sydney’s social scene,” one insider said.

“After spending a little more time together recently, they hit it off and started dating.

“They were hot and heavy for a short period of time, but it just didn’t work and ended up being over before it began.”

Edwards, who seems to have a thing for sportsmen, previously dated former cricketer Michael Clarke, however that relationship ended last year.

And the hook up with Anasta comes just months after Edwards’ ex Clarke was involved in a hugely public fight with his girlfriend Jade Yarbrough in Queensland after it was alleged Clarke cheated on her with Edwards.

An embarrassed Edwards issued a statement at the time saying: “It is definitely not my circus and I would like to say the carnival is over, and to be honest the focus for me is on the global expansion of P.E Nation. The carnival is done.”

She was formerly married to Ksubi designer Dan Single.

Meanwhile Anasta, 41, who did not respond to Confidential’s queries on Friday, was previously engaged to Rachael Lee, who proposed in 2019 after three years of dating.

However, in September Anasta confirmed that the pair were having a difficult time.

“Like many couples, we are going through a difficult period,” he said on Instagram.

He insisted that the couple had not broken up, but that they were “trying to figure this out for us, and more importantly, for our beautiful family and amazing children.”

They officially called it quits in November.

While there’s been much speculation on what went wrong for the couple, who have a four-year-old daughter named Gigi, the pair no longer follow one another on Instagram, suggesting the split was not amicable.

Lee is now dating Blake Hillen.

Prior to that, Anasta, who runs successful sports agency Searoo Sports, was married to Jodi Gordon, with whom he shares nine-year-old daughter Aleeia.

“WelleCo came about as a result of my own wellness journey when I discovered that my purpose was much bigger than my own healing,” Macpherson said.

“Helping others became my life’s mission.

“I wanted to share with others the wonderful remedies I discovered on my own journey to health with the help of the excellent nutrition expert Dr Laubscher.”

She talked up her “powerful plant-based powder (The Super Elixir)”.

RYAN GETS MIGHTY FIRED UP

Aussie Ryan Cooper has thrown his support behind the actors’ strike in Hollywood.

The Rough Night and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers actor joins Tinsel Town heavy hitters Fran Drescher, George Clooney, Matt Damon and Susan Sarandon in the move that they say is essential for the industry to survive.

The strike, which has shut down big-budget US productions in Australia, is calling for increases in base pay and residuals in the streaming TV era, plus assurances their work will not be replaced by AI.

Members of the Writers Guild of America and the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists voted to go on strike after negotiations with studios broke down, marking the first time in more than 60 years both sectors of the US film industry have walked off the set.

“I wholeheartedly support the strike,” Cooper told Saturday Confidential.

“SAG is doing its best to fight for residuals that have been dried up due to certain new media contracts which allow studios and streamers to take advantage of the work done by talent.

“My concerns are that the big platforms may have the means necessary to ‘siege out’ on talent.”

Cooper believes streaming platforms are planning to pay actors, extras in particular, once for their image or voice.

SUNRISE SET MOVE ‘A GAMBLE’

Seven’s ratings winner Sunrise had its final broadcast from its Martin Place studio on Friday, the last of a 19-year run in Sydney’s CBD.

The long-running program is set to embark on a new chapter in its Eveleigh home, to where Seven News located last month.

Also bidding farewell to the iconic “Brekky Central” space is The Morning Show with Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies, who spent 16 years at Martin Place – every one of them a ratings win.

However, insiders will be keeping a keen eye on whether the move – branded by some as a gamble and cost-cutting measure – is going to benefit the top rating program, with some claiming it could hinder its atmosphere.

“It probably won’t affect their ratings at all as Sunrise has such loyal viewers, but there is a concern the show will lose some of its magic by no longer being in the city studio,” one insider said.

“It’s going to be a different vibe not being in the CBD,” one reader wrote on TV Tonight’s story on the move.

“The CBD location gives it an atmosphere, where as Today to me, there is no atmosphere, that’s why I made the switch from Today.” Others applauded the “refresh”.
