Michael Clarke’s ex Pip Edwards has spoken out about her former flames revealing she jumped into her past relationships for all the wrong reasons.
The P.E. Nation designer dropped the relationship bombshells on the ‘No Filter’ podcast on Monday, saying her past relationships were often based off what others wanted and not what she needed.
“I think it’s maybe an indication of not really valuing myself … I’ve made a series of decisions based on external validation,” Edwards said.
“Based on what society or my parents put forward, what’s great for my child - what’s great for everyone but me.”
“You have to feel safe in a romantic sense. I’m not sure if I’ve ever felt safe.”
Edwards and Clarke dated for over a year before the pair called it quits in 2021.
In January, Edwards was pulled into the controversy surrounding a public spat between the Aussie cricketer and his then partner Jade Yarbrough.
Footage obtained by The Daily Telegraph showed Clarke being slapped by Yarbrough in a public park in Noosa as she accused the former batsman of cheating on her with Edwards in December.
Clarke and Today Show host Karl Stefanovic were shown on the video squaring off in the wild fracas.
It’s understood Edwards and Jade had been in contact, sparking the confrontation between Clarke and Jade.
“You f**ked her on December 17 … You f**ked her, you’re a f**king dog,” Jade screams.
Clarke responds: “Baby you’re wrong, you’re wrong.”
After the video was made public, Edwards issued a statement saying she was unaware of the “debacle” in Noosa.
“This is not my circus,” Edwards told The Telegraph.
“Yet again, Michael in his true nature has not taken responsibility for his actions and I was blatantly lied to.”
At the time, Clarke told The Daily Telegraph: “I’m absolutely gutted I’ve put people I hold in the highest regard in this position. My actions in the lead-up to this altercation were nothing short of shameful and regrettable,” he said.
