MAFS stars Holly and Andrew turn a corner as Texan groom breaks down

After a rocky start, Holly and Andrew appear to have turned a corner after the MAFS groom broke down in tears during his emotional confession.

Married At First Sight’s sex-crazed groom Andrew has broken down in emotional scenes on tonight’s episode, apologising to his TV wife for their various rows.

Things have rapidly gone from bad to worse for the couple, which kicked off on honeymoon when the Texan groom didn’t hold back during the Honesty Box challenge, outing Holly as a subpar lover: “It was not an enjoyable experience for me.”

After several attempts to move past it, things went south again during Confessions week when Holly revealed her deep desire to be a mother, while Andrew doubled down on his sex stance.

“I love sex. I love exploring sex and I love celebrating sex. I’m a very sexual person and have had roughly 350 sexual partners in the past,” he said.

Afterwards, the duo got in an almighty argument as Andrew said they weren’t “on the same page” and didn’t see a point continuing their relationship, given Holly’s wishes to become a mum.

But in a giant 180 after Sunday night’s commitment ceremony, which saw them both write ‘stay’, Andrew took the opportunity on Monday night’s episode to finally deliver Holly a real, from-the-heart confession.

“If you allow me to confess something to you, I think it’ll shed some light on the situation. My biggest fear is rejection. I put up a huge wall. It got even bigger that day we had our blow-up because I felt me biggest fears were confirmed. Rejection,” Andrew began.

“From that night on I felt alone and isolated. I checked out and all I did was look for reasons not to like you. I have been seeking validation through sexual partners, I’ve lied, I’ve cheated and I’ve been hiding behind this for too long.

“Here I am telling you something I’ve never told anyone. I want you to know I trust you and you are worth the fight. I apologise for not being a better man to you sooner. You deserve to know you deserve more than what I’ve given you and none of this is your fault. Thank you for not rejecting me. I’m sorry.”

An ever-conservative Holly agrees to forgive, but for now wants them to continue living separately until they work things out.

“Andrew saying because he had a fear of rejection … It at least made me understand how he had so much resentment,” she said. “I still carry the scars and I can’t forget, but I want to move forward.”

However, judging by the preview for Tuesday night’s episode, their peace arrangement doesn’t last long.

Andrew is heard saying to Holly: “You’re demonstrating a bit of narcissistic behaviour, if I’m being completely honest with you”, before Holly is seen kicking him out.
