What do you do when you’re loaded and it won’t stop raining in Sydney?
Grab a posse of beautiful women and board a plane to make your way to your own private island of course.
That’s what billionaire bar baron Justin Hemmes did this week with girlfriend Madeline Holtznagel, her bestie Yvette and model Montana Cox.
A week after hosting the Silver Party, Hemmes and the ladies spent a few days at Haggerstone Island, which lies off the coast of Far North Queensland.
Hemmes, 48, is a part-owner of the luxury destination, which costs a whopping $7000 a night to rent in its entirety.
“Justin and the girls flew up in his private jet then had the seaplane take them out to the island,” a mate said.
Holtznagel and her gal pals documented their trip north on their social media sites.
Modelling agents have previously warned that Madeline Holtznagel’s modelling career has taken a back seat since she hooked up with pubs boss Justin Hemmes, and warned the young beauty that she will miss her prime in the fast-moving fashion industry.
The sister of successful model Simone Holtznagel, Madeline has been dating Hemmes since August 2020 and sources close to the pair say she is prioritising her high-profile relationship over her modelling career.
Holtznagel’s days seem to be jam-packed with lunches and dinners at Hemmes’ various Sydney venues, and lazy days at his properties at Narooma and Vaucluse.
“There’s no denying she is putting all her eggs in one basket at the moment,” someone close to the couple said.
“It’s all well and good now, but there might come a time when the relationship runs its course and she will need her modelling career, so she can support herself financially.”
Hemmes and Holtznagel are no strangers to isolating together either, having done so when they both caught Covid last December.
The pair started being seeing the young beauty — then 24 — in the lead-up to Hemmes’ 48th birthday, which they celebrated together with friends.
Asked then about the secret to his happiness, Hemmes — whose precise fortune was recently estimated at $1.05 billion according to The Australian 250 Rich List — said it wasn’t money that brought him the most joy.
“I think it’s just about working hard, staying positive and enjoying the simple things,” Hemmes said during a celebratory lunch at one of the restaurants in his stable, Bert’s at Newport.
“I really don’t think you need money to be happy. It’s not everything. For me, I think working hard, getting lots of exercise and keeping the mind active is what is most important.”
Hemmes has dated a string of beauties in the past, including chiropractor Simone Bosman, model Amber L’Strange and singer Natalie Imbruglia.
He has two children with model Kate Fowler, from whom he split in 2018 after three years of dating.
