Julia Roberts flies into Sydney to shoot new movie with George Clooney
Hollywood’s pretty woman, Julia Roberts, has landed in Sydney en route to the set of her new movie Ticket To Paradise. Her co-star George Clooney arrived 24 hours earlier.

She was the subject of the biggest celebrity hunt in Sydney earlier this year and no one managed to find her.
But Hollywood’s pretty woman, Julia Roberts, definitely landed in Sydney on Saturday night — and there was no trouble spotting her.
Wearing her distinctive favourite polka dot yellow hat, Roberts flew into Sydney Airport en route to the set of her new movie, Ticket To Paradise, a romantic comedy reuniting her with her Ocean’s 11 co-star and friend George Clooney.
The pair also starred in the thriller Money Monster.
Filming is due to start next month, with the crew currently in pre-production.
Clooney has also landed in Australia, arriving on Friday night with wife Amal and their young twins Ella and Alexander.
In the movie, Roberts and Clooney play a divorced couple trying to stop their daughter from a mismatched marriage in Bali.
The Hollywood heavy-hitters are joined in the cast by Booksmart breakout actress Kaitlyn Dever.
Roberts flew into Australia from Los Angeles and was immediately taken to private quarantine under police escort.
It is unclear where the two superstar families will be staying, but the movie is scheduled to be shot on the Gold Coast and in Brisbane over eight weeks.
The tropical scenes of the film will be shot in the Whitsundays, which will be transformed into a Bali-style resort.
Australia was chosen as the location for the movie when Covid restrictions shut down much of the world’s film industry over the past 18 months.
It was feared the return to work in the US would signal an end to the Australian movie boom, but low costs and government assistance payments have kept many foreign projects on the go.
Ticket to Paradise won a $4 million grant from the federal government and will receive additional support from the Queensland government.
It will be directed by Ol Parker, who brought the world the Mamma Mia! sequel.
It is estimated the film will generate about $47 million for the local economy — as well as add some star power to the booming domestic industry.
Roberts was reported to have been in Australia earlier this year, but she became the subject of a celebrity Where’s Wally-style hunt after weeks of not being spotted anywhere.
