Hollywood queen and Oscar winner Julia Roberts touched down in Sydney via private jet early this week.
It’s understood the Pretty Woman star arrived in Australia with husband Danny Moder and their three kids — 16-year-old twins Phinnaeus and Hazel and 13-year-old Henry — for what will be an extended stay here as she prepares to shoot at least two major projects.
Initially bunkering down in a Sydney hotel, the Moder clan is believed to have since relocated to a luxurious private home north of Sydney for their quarantine period in what has — so far — been a very under-the-radar trip.
Film sources say Roberts’ big transition from the US to Australia — which could see the actor here for up to a year — got a big helping hand from her friend Nicole Kidman, who Confidential hears donated her personal security team and a band of handlers to help smooth the process.
It’s understood the pair have long been pals and, despite the fact their 2015 film Secret In Their Eyes tanked badly, the two leading actors have remained tight.
They will welcome another mutual friend in George Clooney later this year when he arrives to begin shooting the romantic comedy Ticket To Paradise in Queensland alongside Roberts.
In the meantime, it’s believed the Erin Brockovich star will soon begin pre-production work on the Aussie-produced political TV thriller Gaslit — about the Watergate scandal — which is being helmed by showbiz brothers Joel and Nash Edgerton.
