Former wild child Conrad Sewell has well and truly settled down — the Healing Hands singer and his fiancee Jasmine Hingston are expecting their first child.

After putting in the work to sort out his own life, chart-topping singer Conrad Sewell is ready to pass on his learnings to the next generation.

Days after announcing their engagement, Confidential can reveal Sewell and partner Jasmine Hingston are expecting their first child, a baby boy due in February.

“I feel like you can never be prepared, but in a weird way I am ready for it,” the 33-year-old said.

“Music has been like a spiritual journey for me. The ups and downs of my life have been in my music, the struggles, the constant battle internally and externally.

“Getting to the point that I am having my own family, I have come into myself and Jas has been critical in helping me become the man I am today.”

Sewell’s 2019 number one album, Life, detailed his struggles with alcohol and drugs, and how he got his life back on track.

Based between Brisbane and Los Angeles, he has been busy working on new music and anticipates a single will be out by February, with an album to follow.

“I went away and had a hard look at my life,” Sewell said.

“I thought, ‘what am I doing this for still, and what do I really want to sing about if I am going to do this for the rest of my life? I had a good long look in the mirror.

“Jas came into my life at that turning point where I was really doing some work on myself and figuring myself out and she encouraged that discovery.

“The last three years of us being together has been that journey of self discovery.”

The musical result of much soul searching is a live album of original tracks.

“This album is literally like I’ve found my sound,” Sewell said.

“We made a blue-eyed soul record that is like Simply Red and the Rolling Stones, with a full band and that energy.

“The stories are all about me getting to this point, dealing with my ego, checking myself and working out what kind of man I want to be.”
