The Oscar streaker

In 1974, viewers got more than they bargained for when late artist Robert Opel crashed the event and streaked on stage behind Oscar co-host David Niven.

“Well, ladies and gentlemen, that was almost bound to happen,” Niven told the shocked crowd.

He eventually became known as the infamous “Oscar streaker” and it was later revealed that Opel’s stunt was part of an ongoing performance art piece.

Jennifer Lawrence taking a tumble

A combination of nerves and excitement got the better of Jennifer Lawrence, who took a tumble while making her way to the stage to accept the award for Best Actress in 2013.

Lawrence, who was 22 at the time, became the second-youngest winner in to win for her role in Silver Linings Playbook, but the moment was almost overshadowed when she tripped on some stairs.

“You guys are just standing up ’cause you feel bad that I fell, and that’s really embarrassing, but thank you,” she said during her acceptance speech.
