HSC results 2019: Schools with most high achievers on honours list

They charge more than $30,000 a year for their education, but Sydney’s prestigious private schools were beaten by free-of-cost selective schools in the HSC.
Sydney Boys High School in Moore Park had the highest number of students with top marks in one or more subjects with 261 students getting band six.
That’s ahead of the swanky Knox Grammar in Wahroonga which came in second with 257 students and right behind were selective schools Baulkham Hills High and James Ruse Agricultural High School.
When it came to ranking schools with the most students who placed top 10 in the state in one or more subjects, James Ruse nabbed first place over Sydney Grammar School at second.
It was the same case in the all-rounders category with 84 all-round high achieving students at James Ruse as compared to 65 at Sydney Grammar.
But while the top schools were dominantly private or selective — public state school Cherrybrook Technology High School shot ahead, ranked 15 in the list of most distinguished students, with 134 students who got top band marks in one or more subjects.
Killara High — another non selective public school — followed at number 20 with 123 students succeeding in the category
