Chad Stone McDonald accused of impersonating police officer and carjacking

Fortitude Valley resident Chad Stone McDonald, 35, has faced Brisbane’s Arrest Court on a string of charges including allegedly impersonating a police officer.
He stands charged with six offences alleged to have occurred on Wednesday, January 8, in Brisbane’s north.
According to court documents on Thursday morning, the allegations against McDonald include that he impersonated a Queensland Police Service officer at an O’Connell Terrace, Bowen Hills, address in an attempt to enter a motor vehicle.
At another O’Connell Terrace address on the same date, McDonald is alleged to have assaulted a man in an attempt to steal his car.
He is also alleged to have stolen a taxi from Royal Brisbane Hospital Herston, taking items from the driver including his wallet, bank and ID cards, cash, dashcam, keys, and drink bottle.
Police allege he later caused damage to a Toyota Rav 4 station wagon in an alleged hit and run at Keperra.
McDonald is charged with attempted unlawful entry of vehicle for committing indictable offence, personating a public officer, attempted robbery (use/threaten violence), unlawful use of motor vehicles, wilful damage, and stealing.
He made no application for bail and was remanded to appear at Brisbane Magistrates Court on February 17 over video link.
