A Fraser Coast man has admitted killing a father nearly three years ago, pleading guilty to manslaughter in return for a murder charge being dropped.
Craig Anthony Leahey, 56, of Torquay, appeared in the Supreme Court in Brisbane on Thursday via video-link where prosecutors dropped the charge of murdering Booral father Lee Andrew Price, 57, on September 23, 2020.
Mr Price suffered serious head injuries and died at the scene, police said at the time.
Mr Leahey instead pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
“I am not guilty to murder your honour, but I am guilty to manslaughter,” Leahey told Justice Peter Davis.
The court has vacated his trial listing and instead set his sentencing date for May 31.
