A Mountain Creek mother has faced court following the closure of a police operation to disrupt the production, sale and use of drugs on the Sunshine Coast.
Joanne Lee Hatch, 51, was the first of a trio to face court following the sting which led to raids on multiple homes in late January.
After extensive investigations since October last year, officers from Kawana Waters, Caloundra and Caloundra South stations, alongside the Sunshine Coast tactical crime squad, searched homes in Minyama, Mountain Creek and Nirimba on January 22.
Police allege they uncovered over-the-schedule amounts of cocaine and MDMA, partnered with smaller amounts of marijuana, diazepam, $2505 in cash, scales, drug items and a phone suspected of being used in the commission of an offence at Hatch’s Mountain Creek home.
It is further alleged Hatch produced marijuana on this same date at her Mountain Creek home.
Three people were charged with 21 offences, including Ms Hatch who faced Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Wednesday on four counts of possessing dangerous drugs and one count each of producing dangerous drugs, possession of property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence, possessing property suspected of having been used in the connection with the commission of a drug crime and possess utensils or pipes.
Represented by defence solicitor Jacob Pruden, her matters were adjourned to April 14. Mr Pruden said his client was charged with indictable matters, meaning they would need to be finalised in a higher court.
She left the court on bail. As part of her conditions she must report to Kawana Waters Police three times a week and can only have one phone with no encrypted applications.
A 20-year-old Minyama man was charged with three counts of possessing dangerous drugs and one count each of contravening an order about information necessary to access information stored electronically, possessing counterfeit money, possessing property suspected of having been used in connection with the commission of a drug offence, possession of property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence under drugs misuse act and possessing utensils or pipes etc for use.
A 21-year-old Minyama woman was charged with one count of supplying dangerous drugs.
They are both due to appear in court on February 27. A 54-year-old Minyama man was offered a drug diversion.
