A driver has allegedly attempted to flee the scene of a crash after hitting several vehicles and colliding with a light pole in Brisbane’s north Saturday night.
Emergency services were called to a multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of Gympie Rd and Banfield St, Chermside, at around 9.30pm.

According to a Queensland Police Service spokesman, early investigations suggest a Holden Trax was travelling north on Gympie Road when the vehicle side-swiped three other vehicles and hit a light pole.

The driver, a 39-year-old Chermside man, allegedly fled the scene but was located nearby.

A short time later, he was taken to the Prince Charles Hospital in a stable condition with minor injuries.

According to the Queensland Ambulance Service a child was also taken to the Queensland Children’s Hospital in a stable condition, with paramedics assessing six people at the scene of the crash.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
