Police have released images of a man they wish to speak to following a shooting in Warwick last week but have warned locals not to approach him as he may be armed.

Jackson Watson, 26, is known to frequent Brisbane, Gold Coast, Toowoomba, Warwick, and Texas and may be armed, police say.

The public should not approach him if sighted but should instead immediately call triple-0.

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate 26-year-old Jackson Watson who they believe can assist with the investigation into a shooting in Warwick last week.

It is believe Jackson has information relating to an incident on Wallace St, Warwick, on Tuesday, February 15, about 9.20am, where a 37-year-old man was shot in the stomach.

Warwick Police acting Inspector Jamie Deacon said at the time that a small silver sedan or hatchback pulled up beside the victim and another man inside the car fired a single shot at the man before the car drove off.

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate 26-year-old Jackson Watson who they believe can assist with the investigation into a shooting in Warwick last week.

Anyone with information about Mr Watson or his whereabouts is being asked to make immediate contact with police.

Mr Watson is described as caucasian, approximately 170cm tall with a proportionate build, brown hair and brown eyes.
