A Sunshine Coast man accused of a drunken, naked rampage in Indonesia is expected to fly home this week after his release from an Aceh prison.

Bodhi Mani Risby-Jones, 23, had been in an Indonesian prison cell since late April after he was accused of an attack on multiple people, including on one man who suffered serious leg injuries.

His release follows a compensation deal with the fisherman’s family that saw the case avoid court.

On Wednesday he was in an immigration office in Meulaboh, southeast of Banda Aceh, awaiting his deportation.

Simeulue prosecutor Willy Agustian said Indonesian Attorney-General had approved his release following a “peace agreement” with the victim.

“It means that he has been declared guilty, but he should not face the court because of the peace agreement,” he said.

“It’s our attempt to address the case outside the court to give fairness for the victim.

“Prosecutors did not (become) involved in it.

“We only facilitate them to meet and talk and made the agreement.

“All the money belongs to the victim for his medical treatment and living costs until he’s recovered and can go to work.”
