A top-of-the-table clash between undefeated Ipswich Grammar and a Nudgee College side fighting to save their season will be the most highly anticipated between the schools in years.

Nudgee will be searching for the 14th win in a row over Ipswich on Saturday, but a 15th would prove their most important in years because their title hopes are on the line.

In 101 outings, Nudgee College have defeated IGS 82 times yet they will travel to Ipswich this year as underdogs.

Ipswich’s lethal playmaking spine of halfback Kalani Thomas, flyhalf Sam Walker and winger/fullback Seamus King-Smith have combined for 18 linebreaks and 16 try assists from just three matches.

That trio, along with 150kg prop Romeo Tanielu up front and slippery winger Malique Douthat-Sjoberg out wide, have powered GPS rugby’s most potent attacking team to average 47 points per match.

Round four will also present four winless schools with opportunities to break their season ducks when Brisbane Grammar and Gregory Terrace face-off with Churchie and State High.

Churchie have made five changes to their starting XV after scoring one try and conceding 101 points in their first two matches.

150-kilogram Ipswich Grammar School prop Romeo Tanielu beats a defender on 76 per cent of carries.

Undefeated Second XV centres Lachlan Tokome and Hunter Wright have been promoted to the First XV while Sam Farrar will step into the No.10 jersey from fullback in the search of greater attacking spark.

State High’s leading tackler, flanker Caleb Edwards, has joined injured backrowers Kai Johnstone and Trey Soli on the sidelines, forcing another pack reshuffle.

Hooker Josh Mahina will move to openside to fill the void while promising youngster Ezra Howe is recalled onto the wing.
