The Langer Trophy and NRL Schoolgirls Cup go into Round 3 with some teams already desperate to find winning form for the first time.

In the case of Keebra Park, they are hunting a perfect 3-0 start to the season against a Wavell State High side which has flown under the radar in 2025.

Keebra Park will look to enigmatic fullback David Bryenton, who possesses a sharp left-foot step that has garnered plenty of comparisons to another Keebra Park legend, to lead the charge.

Ipswich State High will look to build on their thrilling win over Marsden State High last week when they clash with reigning champions Palm Beach Currumbin in what is a replay of the 2022 and 2023 Langer Trophy grand finals.

Both sides look very different to the teams that played out those two thrilling deciders, and it will be the youngest player on the field who could have the biggest impact.

Baxter Best, 16, is the younger brother to NSW Blues Origin flyer Bradman, and after excelling in his Langer Trophy debut last week, will get another crack at the big leagues.

A smarting Marsden will need to be on its A-game when they come up against a Redcliffe State High side full to the brim with belief.

The Redcliffe side bashed and crashed its way to a big Round 2 victory last week and will be determined to fight fire with fire against Marsden’s oversized engine room.

Rounding out the Langer Trophy action, Stretton State College faces off against a Mabel Park side that raised plenty of questions in Round 2.

After shutting out the national champions in their season opener, Mabel Park were almost a different side in last week’s loss to Keebra Park.

Their coach has blamed a lack of discipline both with and without the ball in hand, something the school side has worked overtime to correct this week.

Finally Keebra Park ace Okalani Compton could hold all the cards in a rare stand-alone NRL Schoolgirls Cup clash against competition newcomers St James College.
