The Sunshine Coast Wanderers are hoping home ground advantage pays dividends again when they contest the Football Queensland Junior Cup at Maroochydore over three days from Sunday.
More than 1200 U12 and U13 players will take part in the competition - and you can catch action from two fields on Sunday and Monday and four fields on Tuesday LIVE and EXCLUSIVE on KommunityTV.

Fields 2A and 5A will be showcased across the opening two days, before expanding to 2A, 2B, 5A and 5B on finals day to ensure every grand final is shown.

Home ground advantage was evident last year with the Sunshine Coast Wanderers winning the girls gold cup, while the boys gold was won by Gold Coast Knights, and the silver cup went to Moreton Bay United.
Wanderers technical director Nathan Cobb said his U12 girls players were looking forward to playing in a competitive points tournament while the U13 girls side looked to defend their 2023 title.
“To play different local community teams, but also clubs from all over Queensland, is a good opportunity to come up against players from other regions,” he said.
“It probably makes us and the other local sides somewhat favourites considering we don’t have to travel.”
Cobb said he was extremely excited to see how his junior female sides could perform.
“The women’s and junior girls program is bursting at the seams following the World Cup, so the junior cup is an event everyone looks forward to.
“Our senior women watch our U12 and U13 girls play and ponder just how good they’ll be in four or five years time.”
The event will welcome more teams than ever, with 87 sides expected to attend.
“There’ll be a fair bit of football over the three days and obviously the excitement builds when players can look at results, upcoming fixtures and a leaderboard,” he said.
“There’s also an opportunity for teams and players to spend a lot more time together, whether that be throughout the carnival or at outside events like team dinners and so on.
“I know there’s been plenty of chatter between our players for the past few months, so they’re very excited and I know the tournament is as big as it can be now, so hopefully that continues on for years to come.”
