SuperCoach BBL: Shane Warne's Best Young Guns

If you rode the Marcus Stoinis gravy train in SuperCoach BBL last summer, his Round 10 heroics will live long in your memory.

The Melbourne Stars all-rounder was one of the competition’s in-form players heading into his side’s late-season double, taking seven wickets and compiling 182 runs in his three BBL games prior to Round 10.

Those who opted to make Stoinis captain were duly rewarded when he continued his hot streak with 7-41 and 96 runs from 74 balls across games against Brisbane Heat and Adelaide Strikers.

His efforts amounted to an unbelievable 376 points, or 752 when doubled as skipper.

Stoinis’ total was 152 points higher than the next best in BBL08, D’Arcy Short’s 224 from a double game week against Melbourne Stars and Perth Scorchers.

Such was his dominance after being thrust to the top of the Stars’ batting line-up, Stoinis posted four of the top-10 round scores of the summer.

As a result, he finished with the best average (96.9) of any player and will start BBL09 with the highest price tag ($278,900).
