Australian Schools Championships: The 30 best high school talents in the country

They’re the next big things to hit the court as scouts amass at Basketball’s Australian School Championships to check out what the future has in store. See the top 30 up close and personal.

From a rising Boomer Alex Toohey who has already impressed on the international stage to a Queenslander dubbed the “beast” who has knocked back advances from rugby union, there is an extensive list of gifted basketballers competing at the 2022 Australian School Championships.

This year’s event is on the Gold Coast from November 28 to December 2, with the country’s leading high schools players competing on the national stage and will be livestreamed by News Corp’s KommunityTV platform.

Teams will compete across three age groups (U15, U17 and U20) as well as the elite Championship division.

KommunityTV will exclusively live stream of 127 games over five days, including every match of the boys and girls championship divisions.

The Australian Schools Championship is a proven breeding ground, having produced current stars like Dante Exum, Patty Mills, Lauren Jackson, Tessa Lavey and Josh Giddey.

It’s also a part of the production line generating players for NBL, NBL1, state leagues and US college scholarships which helps strengthen the game at every level making Australia a global hoops powerhouse.

With the help of leading junior coaches across the country we have compiled a list of the Top 30 boys and girls high school basketballers competing at the championships.
