Maybe it was their Thor-inspired jumpers, but the Western Bulldogs produced a superhero performance against Sydney.
And coincidently on a day of upsets, it was the teams wearing clash strips that won out.
SUPERCOACH: EVERY SCORE FROM ROUND 1
MALTHOUSE: WHAT WERE YOU THINKING, SAINTS?
The new looks Hawthorn, Port Adelaide and the Bulldogs modelled inspired some impressive footy on the field.
And the power of the Thor guernseys wasn’t lost on Dogs fans during their heart-stopping win over Sydney at Marvel Stadium.
This is our lucky jumper!

The Hawks and Power also recorded upset wins over Adelaide and Melboure respectively.
Hawthorn’s predominantly gold clash strip featuring a brown V received mostly positive reaction on social media.
I like this Hawthorn jumper and how they've played. #AFLCrowsHawks

1. Hawthornâs jumper is elite
2. Hopefully round 1 nerves but I think West Coast are in a bit of strife

Hawthorn clash jumper much more of a clash with Crows than the Hawks regular strip. Very hard to tell apart- how does the @AFL tick off on this @AFL_PKeane ? #AFLCrowsHawks

I like Hawthornâs away jumper and I donât care what you think. #AFLCrowsHawks

But the same could not be said of Port Adelaide’s kit, that had shades of Carlton about it.
Nice move @CarltonFC selling those dirty nappy san grey water jumpers to #RecyclerCentral @kochie_online and @PAFC ð#AFLDeesPower @PhillipCoorey @GreenJ @kanecornes

Port Adelaide's clash jumper is horrible. What was wrong with the predominantly white or teal clash jumpers? #AFLDeesPower
â Ben Crawford (@BenCrawford__) March 23, 2019
@AFL #AFLDeesPower that is a disgusting away clash jumper for port power why couldn't they use their own jumpers no clash at all
â Brett Grindrod (@Bgrindrod) March 23, 2019
