A Scenic Rim bartender charged with supplying methylamphetamine (ice) and assaulting police after being arrested over the weekend has been bailed shortly after having bail refused by a Logan magistrate.

Tiarne Micha McKinnon, 23, was arrested over the weekend and charged with 16 offences, including supplying ice (nine times), assaulting police, obstructing police, receiving tainted property, possessing a mobile phone suspected of being used in the commission of a drug offence and possessing cash suspected of being the proceeds of a drug offence.

On Tuesday, Ms McKinnon was granted bail by Magistrate Kurt Fowler, a day after having her bail refused by Beenleigh Magistrate Michael O’Driscoll.

There, her bail was refused due to a number of unrelated charges in the District Court hanging over her head – however, it was heard that some of the charges may be discontinued, which would ease a path to bail potentially being granted.

Ms McKinnon’s 17 charges will be mentioned again in Beaudesert on October 20.
