Brisbane club Eastern Suburbs FC has pulled off a major coup by luring Socceroo Jade North to the club for the men’s NPL season.
The former Brisbane Roar champion has the club abuzz after opting to return to Brisbane where his career first took off after attending Sunnybank State High School.
“I’m very excited to once again play in Brisbane where I started my football journey,” said the 41-cap veteran.

Easts coach Adam Bennet said he was excited to have North join other new recruits Mitch Bird (Peninsular Power), David Salin (Redlands United), Jayden Balerezo (Easts Junior) and Ante Poljak (St Albans Vic.) at the club.
“We can’t wait to get back on the park and recommence our NPL season and these new players, including Jade, will round out what was already a very talented group,’’ Bennet said.
Of indigenous decent, North said he would use his return to grassroots football to give his “Kickin with a Cuz” junior football program a push along.
A proud Birripi man, North said he designed the program to “reach out to young boys and girls through football’’.
He said his vision was “to create sustainable pathways and outcomes for kids to make better life choices’’.
North is planning to partner with Eastern Suburbs and connect with local communities to further promote this program initiatives.
Recognised as one of the best football playing teams in the competition, North’s edition enhance’s Easts reputation ahead of the season opener at home against Peninsular Power on July 24.
