The girls train 30 hours a week at Delta Gymnastics Kedron under high performance coaches Sasha and Olga Beloousov.

So impressive are they, Gymnastics Australia invited them to a high performance camp for gymnast’s who have the potential to represent Australia at the 2020 Commonwealth Games and beyond.

Despite the camp being cancelled after a COVID-19 outbreak in the southern states, they remain have been identified as elite talent.

“We are excited to see what the future holds for the girls and look forward to continuing to support them on their gymnastics journey,’’ said Delta Performance Program Director Joshua Parker-Sloan.

White and McDonnell-Baum were senior internationals while India Colombi, Alice Zhu, Jessica Cleverly, Grace Webb and Ruby Pass were all junior internationals.

The cancelling of the Gymnastics Australia camp came after the frustrations of 2020 when they were unable to compete at regionals, state or national competition due to the COVID-19 concerns.

But Parker-Sloan said the manner in which the girls had handled the setbacks had displayed great resilience.

“It hasn’t been an easy road for the girls and there’s been lots of disappointment but we are very proud of their resilience, commitment and support of each other to get through the last 12 months,’’ Parker-Sloan said.

She said Godwin was also a source of inspiration to the Delta athletics.

“Training with Australia’s only Olympic representative has inspired, encouraged and motivated the girls to continue fighting for their goals,’’ she said.
