SEQ AFL under 17 girls footy: Here’s an A to Z of just some of the talent that oozes through the ranks of this exciting girls footy competition that is steaming toward the finals.

As the SEQ AFL under 17 girls footy competition steams toward the finals, we give a snapshot of some of the wonderful talent flowing through the ranks of this exciting competition.

Our A to Z summary highlights some of the high achievers who have helped make the competition the success it has been so far.

QAFL COLTS PLAYER OF THE YEAR

In the last round of competition last weekend, Yeronga Devils 1.3-9 went down to WWilston Grange Gorillas who were celebrating the 150th match of the remarkable Mia Geere.

Lizzie King was fantastic out on a wing with her run while young veterans Chloe Delforce and Emma Hibberson delivered in defence.

The Sherwood Magpies 4.4-28 got the job done in a finals’ intensity thriller against Broadbeach Cats who kicked 2-12-24.

Coorparoo tried hard in generating 10 scoring shots, but still lost by 60 to premiership top guns Burleigh Bombers.

And in a Gold Coast blockbuster, Surfers Paradise Demons 3.7-25 beat Tweed Coolangatta Blues 3.3-21.

“Wow what a game to finish the season,’’ said Tweed Cooly coach Dave Palmucci. “It could have easily been mistaken for a finals game. Tough and contested, every possession was under immense pressure.

“Congratulations to Surfers for finishing top of the ladder in a very competitive tight competition, well deserved.

“Bring on finals, it’s going to be a cracker.’’

Victoria Point Sharks had a rousing 10.7-60 to nil win over Southport Sharks while

Maroochy Roos 3.5-23 beat Moreton Bay Lions 11.

And Wests Juniors 13.8 beat Sandgate Hawks 12.

The quarter finals will see Tweed Coolangatta Blues v Sherwood Magpies, Surfers Paradise Demons v Broadbeach Cats, Victoria Point Sharks v Maroochy Roos and Burleigh Bombers v Wests Juniors.

And now for our A to Z guide

A. A is for a double A - Ava Ambler from Coorparoo. A is for Asha Hynes, the Tweed Coolangatta winger who Asha Hynes, someone who has multiple efforts in her game, pressure, tackling and an ability to harass all day.

A is also for midfield sensation Aasha Elliott and Alicia Gordon of Surfers Paradise, and Mia Avett, who is a teammate. A can also be for Amelia Smith (Southport).

But Surfers and Southport don’t have all the As - Allanah Welsh is a pretty good forward from Burleigh Bombers.

And so do Morningside - Amelia Cran.

A is also for Ava Henderson, who swings between the under 15s and under 17s for Northern Rivers Tigers, and what about Sophie Allen (Wilston Grange). She can sure play.

Her club mate is the one and only Allannah McNally

Three of the best As also come from the Hawks - Kawani Aboody, Alannah Welsh and Amy Sharp.

And one of the best two or three players in the competition has to be Annabel Foat of Broadbeach. Now there’s a footballer.

B is for Brady, Emmerson Brady, one of the Sandgate’s best last Sunday and also for Burleigh Bombers forward Allanah Welsh who has kicked up to eight goals a game this season.

Broadbeach has a Banner, Harriet, and Sandgate had Brady, Emmerson.

B is for a couple of fabulous Northern Rivers girls - Billie Huttoand Summer Browning.

And what about this dynamic duo, Bonnie Starling, Bree Puntigam, both Northern Rivers.

C is for Chloe Rogers (Sandgate) and Charlotte Russell (Southport), along with Kaesti-Eva French (Sandgate)

C is also for Amelia Cran (Panthers).

And of course there is Chloe Campbell, Clara Cooke of the Vic Point Sharks. And Morningside had Chloe McNeven and Amelia Cran in its ranks..

D is for Chloe Delforce who was indeed a force for Wilston Grange last Sunday.

And they don’t come much better than Dakota Gilbert of Maroochy.

Sasha Droin-Kennedy (Wilston Grange) is another great D, and so is Wests Juniors Claudia Dargie who is strong in the midfield.

D is also for Taneka Dhadlie (MAGS)

D is for the two Ds - Drew Davidson (Wilston Grange).

And of course the Northern Rivers has Ava Dixon and Dana Ward.

E is for double E, Evie Emmett, a Tweed Cooly engine player of the highest regard.

Emma Bracegidle (Coorparoo) is another good one while Eva Sartor was never far from the action either for Wests Juniors.

E just has to be for Evie Emmett (Tweed Coolangatta). And we can’t miss Lunna Elkerton, Lily Alford or Jorja Evans (all Tweed Cooly).

E is also for the reliable Eadie Fraser (Coorparoo) who can pull off an intercept mark

F. The Sandgate skipper Montannah Fabian has F all sorted, and F is also for Bella Fernandez (Maroochydore).

F is also for April Fischer (Wests Juniors) and Haily Flynn (Tweed Cooly).

And we have to mention Stevie Fisher (Wests Juniors).

G. G is for Shae Gordon, the MAGS midfield who does everything possible - win a contested ball, kick it down field and then follow up her kick and get the crumbs at the next contest.

G is also for Georgia Hunt (Vic Point) and Heidi Grimster is also a G from the Northern Rivers Tigers 15-17s.

G is also aptly named for Lauren Game (Southport) who loves her footy.

And it is also for Georgia Hunt (Victoria Point).

Gabby Banks (Sherwood) is a terrific winger for Sherwood.

H. H is for Gorillas’ Emma Hibberson who saved her best until last - a fabulous effort last Sunday. Emma Hibberson is also a beauty from Wilston Grange).

H is for the Harrison girls, Chloe and Lyla, both of the Roos.

H is also for Eliza Haigh (Yeronga, Hannah Webb (Roos)

And it is for Ash Hodges, a backline player of great effort for Yeronga, and Brianne Hunt of Morningside. Milly Morris of Northern Rivers - she is one of the best Ms.

He is also for Hallie Cunningham (The Cats).

I. Sienna Ibrahim is an I if ever there is one. The Coorparoo player has been an outstanding performer in their ranks, someone who is as fit as a marathon runner.

I can also be for Rhianna Ingram (Southport) and for Isabella Bailey (Morningside), who played her 50th match on Sunday for the club, and for Isla Dowd (Broadbeach).

Then you have I for Izzy Boucher (Tweed Cooly) and for Issy Levine (Gorillas).

You also have Issy Colebourne (Wilston Grange) who notched her 50th match this season, and another milestone girl was Ila Steeler (Yeronga, 50 games).

J. J is for Jessica Hendry (MAGS, Div 2) who may not get on the scoreboard, but who always helps teammates get the goal scoring list ticking over.

Jamie Stuart (Broadbeach) is never far from the best votes, and Jordan Donnell is a great campaigner for Southport.

K. K is for Kaetsi Eva French, who reached the amazing 100 game milestone for the Sandgate Hawks last weekend. You go girl.

Alyssa Kennedy (Wilston Grange) is fabulous on the wing and in the midfield while Kiara Dunlop has really developed. She has a big motor.

Kate Keen (Roos) just has to be a Special K, doesn’t she, and so is Harriet Kniff (Victoria Point).

K can also be for Jessica King (MAGS). And we can’t miss Sophie Kalan and Eve Kirkwood (both Coorparoo).

L. L is for Lizzie King who has had a fantastic run in her game for Wilston Grange.

You will find Erin Lanyon (Northern Rivers) under L a well, and also her teammate Laini Mostert. And of course Daisy Lythgo (Wets Juniors) is an L.

M. M is for the one and only Mia Geere, one of the best in the competition. She played her 150th game for Wilston Grange last weekend. Now that’s a milestone. And then you have Issy Levine (Wilston Grange).

M is also for the double M, Marley Marshall (Maroochy).

And M is also for a triple M, Matilda McLeod (Maroochydore) and the Yeronga’s Mia Beran (Yeronga) - and then there is Monique Perry (Roos).

And then you have Jessica McGill (MAGS) and Maddie Pfitzner (Wests Juniors).

And the super Marlee Marshall (Maroochy).

Here’s another couple of elite Ms - Elke McCulloch (Burleigh Bombers) and

N. N is for Nakiesha Drew Perkiss, who was sensational across last weekend across the halfback flank.

O. O is for Victoria Point’s Olivia Petrillo, a powerhouse for the Sharks.

And it is also for Olivia Wenck (Sandgate).

P. P is for Piper Mellifont, a terrific player for the Hawks. P is also for Josie Plath (Broadbeach) and P just has to be for Goldie Poulteney (Yeronga). And did we mention Allira Palmucci and her sister Allira (Tweed Cooly)?

Annabel Peacock (Sherwood) is as good as any as well.

Q. Q is for the one and only Daisy Quin (Wets Juniors)

R. R is for a Northern Rivers up-and-coming player, Ash Rettenmaie, strong in the ruck.

R is also for Victoria Point’s Jess Riley, and for Abby Rammage (Roos) and also Surfers Paradise star Rhanni Wilson. And then there is the 50 gamer from Victoria Point - Jess Riley.

S. S is for Charlotte Sealey, who in the MAGs last home match of the season was prepared to chase an opponent for nearly 50m and impact her kick in the end. That’s what it is all about.

S also has to be for Summer Simmonds (Burleigh) and for Shayle Bauer (Southport).

And 100 game veteran, Sienna Burnham (Broadbeach) is an S along with Cooly’s pair Penny Stringer and Ari Sampson Jones.

S is also for Summer Hamilton (Wilston Grange) and then there is good old Smithy, Tayeela Smith of Northern Rivers, and her club mate Savannah Hampson. S is also for Shyla Bauer (Southport), Tayla Simpson and Mia Schipper (both Wilston Grange).

T. T is for the crafty Tiania Limperakis, the MAGS goal sneak who is never out of the action in Div 2. T is also for the athletic Kate Tomich of Sherwood who goes and goes.

Victoria Point have a couple of Ts, Tiara Steel, Tyra Bell-Brooks. And over the border Cass Talbot. (Northern Rivers) looms. And you have Mia Tempest (Sherwood) as well and Taneka Dhandi (MAGS). Also mark down in Trinity Oxenham (Coorparoo) and Eden Taylor (Morningside), along with Tykeerah Cobus-Jack (Wests Juniors)

U.

V. V has to be for 100 game Hawks hero Indigo Van Noord who celebrated the milestone last weekend for the Sandgate Hawks. Well done Indigo.

W. W is for Tweed Cooly’s Eva White across half back. What a player.

W is also for Hannah Webb (Coorparoo), and for Sienna Wilson (Yeronga).

W is for Sienna Wilson (Yeronga) and for the Williams girls at Mt Gravatt, Jessica and Jade. And then we have Zoe Hastings (Northern Rivers). Now there’s a player, and so is Eva White. And we can’t miss Wren Hynes (Northern Rivers).
