Inala resident, Arshdeep Singh Bhinder, in court for grievous bodily harm charge

A Ipswich man has appeared in court after allegedly attacking a man with a golf club, leaving him with serious facial injuries.

An Ipswich man has appeared in court today, faced with a grievous bodily harm charge, after allegedly using a golf club to attack another man.

Inala resident, Arshdeep Singh Bhinder, was charged on August 14 this year after allegedly striking a man in the face with a golf club on Gowan Rd in Sunnybank.

According to police, the 88-year-old man, originally from India, was alleged to have engaged in a verbal argument with another man around 11pm that night over a noise complaint, before things became violent.

It was alleged Mr Bhinder became physical, swinging a golf club at another man’s face, striking him and leaving with severe facial lacerations.

The victim, a 33-year-old Sunnybank Hills man was transported to hospital for treatment in a serious but stable condition.

Mr Bhinder, represented by his lawyer, has been granted bail and is due to appear in Richlands Magistrates Court next on October 21 this year.
