The majority of the offences were for possession of dangerous drugs and supply of dangerous drugs along with numerous charges of stealing and burglary.
Police also recovered a substantial amount of stolen power tools and building materials and are in the process of identifying the rightful owners.
“We have been working fastidiously towards disrupting drug related crimes in our community,” Wynnum Police senior sergeant Wayne Richter said.
“These ongoing operations are essential for breaking down the drug supply network and the destructive impact that it has on our neighbourhood.
“While we haven’t experienced any notable increase in drug related activities during this period of COVID-19, we’re still maintaining our proactive stance in enhancing community safety by detecting and investigating these crimes.”
The 18 people arrested will appear in the Wynnum Magistrates Court in the coming weeks.
