Neighbours make hilarious fishing video as part of growing bin trend

Brisbane neighbours have joined more than 750,000 people worldwide in a viral bin trend during the coronavirus pandemic after making a hilarious fishing music video. WATCH THE VIDEO HERE.

SOME people might think they’re “crazy” but these Brisbane residents are finding their own way of putting smiles on faces during the coronavirus pandemic.

Kristi Lockhart Turner and her neighbours, who are keen fishermen and crabbers, in Yaringa St at Manly West decided to make their own music video after finding the Bin Isolation Outing group on Facebook.

It was Ms Turner’s second post for the page after making a hilarious video of her bins watching a movie, which she calls a ‘Binema’.

The group has gone viral with more than 750,000 members across the world, including a couple from Brisbane’s northside, who recently tied the knot with their bin joining them for the ceremony.

In the short clip, the bayside residents emulate their adventures on the water in their boat in the front yard with the bins acting as anything from a marlin to crabs and even dolphins.

“I did a different video last week, they (her neighbours) shook their heads at me and laughed so I got them involved this week,” Ms Turner said.

“A few different neighbours decorated a bin each.

“They called me crazy but happily invested their time to help and I believe it gave us a fun activity to keep our minds busy and get creative.”

Ms Turner said residents on her street were always coming up with fun things to do.

“We’re a tight knit street always planning a practical joke so this was obviously the next step in having a laugh,” she said.

“My kids want nothing to do with me.”
