A HUGE $650 million development just outside Brisbane’s CBD is starting to take shape with the final plans for the project’s retail centre revealed.
Woolloongabba’s South City Square is one of Brisbane’s biggest residential developments in recent years with the Logan Rd precinct to feature five residential high-rises and a luxury Hyatt hotel once all stages are complete.
With the first three stages already finished, construction on stage four has started.

Stage four will see a five-level basement delivered together with a large retail space, which will include a Woolworths Supermarket and Reading Cinemas.
It will also see the construction of the focal point of the project, the Central Square, built by award-winning landscape architects in Oculus.
However, developers Pellicano and Perri Projects, are awaiting approval from Brisbane City Council after recently submitting final plans for the retail space.
“Pellicano and Perri Projects are committed to delivering a world class precinct to the city of Brisbane, working with industry leading consultants,” Pellicano operations manager, Michael Kent, said.
“This application to council is the result of an extensive process with our consultants and council as the design has evolved.”
The newest stage will add to the three residential buildings with 400 apartments and ground floor retail completed as part of the first three stages.
Mr Kent said further announcements surrounding exciting new retailers joining the precinct would be made soon.
