A massive two-storey childcare centre has been proposed for Holland Park West despite there being at least 20 other centres nearby.
A development application was lodged last month for the 1008 Logan Rd project, designed by Elevation Architecture.
An existing building would be demolished for the centre, which would have a maximum height of 10.5m. And a church on the site will be moved.
The proposal includes a subdivision (one into two lots) to create a new lot for one of the retained dwellings.
Lot 1 retains two pre-1946 buildings, which are to be partially demolished, moved or raised.
A church foyer and driveway will also be demolished and the church itself will be moved.
Lot 2 will accommodate a pre-1946 dwelling.
The centre will have a total gross floor area of 1160 sqm, cater to 116 children and includes seven activity rooms and two outdoor play areas.
There will be 25 carparking spaces, with car and pedestrian access from Logan Rd.
The centre will open from 6.30am to 7pm, Monday to Friday.
Two significant trees will be kept and outdoor play areas landscaped.
