The managers of a beloved sushi restaurant in Cannon Hill have opened up about the reason for its sudden closure after much speculation on social media.
The Sushi Train, located in the Cannon Hill Kmart Plaza Shopping Centre, has been operating for six years and announced they will be closing up shop for good at the end of the month to the dismay of their loyal customers.
“We apologise for the short notice and regret to inform you that we are closing down the Cannon Hill Shop on Thursday, September 30, 2021,” a printed notice said.
“We thank you for your support. It has been a pleasure for us to serve you.
“Please use your Sushi Train loyalty points at our nearby stations: Capalaba and Greenslopes.
“Once again we thank you for your loyalty and we hope to see you again soon.”
The news was met with shock from many of their regular customers on Facebook.
“The best sushi in Brisbane! This is incredibly sad. See you before you close,” one person commented.
“How is this possible? They are always packed!” said another.
A spokeswoman from Sushi Train confirmed the Cannon Hill restaurant would soon permanently close.
“This store is closing due to the lease ending,” she said.
“The Sushi Train Cannon Hill Station opened in January 2015, we appreciate all the customers during this time and for their continuous support.”
