Brisbane’s inner-south could see another mega residential complex hit the skyline after a development proposal was submitted for a luxurious 15-storey tower.
The application from Kenlynn Property Group for 112-130 Lambert St, Kangaroo Point was submitted to the Brisbane City Council on April 1 and features 39 apartments, including a mix of two and three-bedroom units.
Also featuring a gym and a rooftop pool, the project is the latest giant residential project planned for Brisbane’s inner-south suburbs such as Kangaroo Point, Woolloongabba and East Brisbane.
It is also the sixth development either approved or proposed for Lambert St.
Development manager for Kenlynn Property Group, Andrew Travers, said their proposal was different to other applications and approved projects in the area.
“The project is designed with an apartment mix, which is differentiated in some respects from other recently approved or pending approvals in the vicinity, which will appeal to both owner occupiers and investors,” he said.
Mr Travers also said the site on Lambert St produced several challenges, which he believed their application overcame.
“The site presented a number of obstacles to overcome including; size, shape, significant landscape trees and contours,” he said.
“However we think we have come up with a very good design outcome.
“Our design is informed by impacts of Covid-19 on how people live and work and attracting residents back to inner-city living in apartments which offer generous space, good natural light and ventilation, plus work from home spaces.
“The development includes significant communal recreation and fitness spaces, edible garden, plus meeting and multipurpose spaces.
“We have also incorporated dedicated EOT facility for more secure and purpose designed bike storage, noting future Kangaroo Point green bridge, for the increased use of active transport options in the city.
“We are also looking to incorporate dedicated parcel lockers, including some refrigerated, for online deliveries.
“Further into detailed design we will be looking at options to incorporate solar array for communal power, plus provision for EV charging.”
The project was designed by Ellivo Architects with 360 degrees doing the landscape design and the proposal is currently being assessed by Council.
