Three north Brisbane private schools are set to benefit from proposed campus expansions at the former Stafford Depot, according to a development application lodged with the Brisbane City Council.

The joint venture by Padua College, Mount Alvernia College and Saint Anthony’s Primary School seeks to increase both their student capacity and offer greater facilities for extra-curricular and elective studies.

A master plan for the site reveals exciting plans for sporting facilities with the addition of two full-sized fields, multi-game courts, an eight-lane running track, learners pool, 50 metre lap pool, two water polo pools and a new sports complex, with storage and a community hall.

The arts will also receive a welcome boost with the proposed relocation of the Franciscan Colleges Instrumental Program to the existing depot administration building, allowing students from all three schools to gather in one central location, rather than travelling between campuses.

The former vehicle maintenance building is expected to become the new home of the hospitality school, STEM program and industrial skills program.

A new community centre is touted to offer significant benefits to surrounding residents, as it plans to become available for hire to external organisations such as choirs or other sporting groups.

Over the long term, the schools plan to build a new Performing Arts Centre, child care centre and additional classrooms with the hope of finally being able to accommodate increased demand for enrolments.
