A Victoria Point labourer has pleaded not guilty to multiple drug dealing offences after police arrested him during a major Bayside operation.

Trent Mostyn Evans, 29, faced Cleveland Magistrates Court on May 9, 2024 where he pleaded not guilty to one count of trafficking in dangerous drugs, 17 counts of supply dangerous drugs and two counts of possess dangerous drugs.

Mr Evans was one of 28 people allegedly behind a drug trafficking “network” involving heroin and methamphetamines who were arrested after the 12-month-long Operation Uniform Sandri, the court heard.

But the court was told Mr Evans disputed the facts.

His matters would however be committed to the Brisbane Supreme Court.

The court heard Mr Evans trafficked heroin from June 1 last year to August 29 last year and he also supplied methamphetamines and heroin to his “customers” on 17 occasions.

Mr Evans’ lawyer Ashkan Tai said his client was not applying for bail.

A police prosecutor said there has been no application made for witness cross examination.

Magistrate Deborah Vasta said Mr Evans would be remanded in custody until his trial.

“The trial date is yet to be confirmed. The prosecution have a maximum of six months to present the indictment,” Ms Vasta said.
