A Victoria Point labourer charged with multiple drug trafficking offences, who was busted during a major Bayside police drug bust, has fronted court for breaching his bail.

Trent Mostyn Evans, 29, faced Cleveland Magistrates Court on May 2 where he pleaded guilty to breaching the conditions of his bail.

He was charged with one breach of bail condition, one count of trafficking in dangerous drugs, one count of possess thing, one count of permit place, 17 counts of supply dangerous drugs and two counts of possess dangerous drugs.

Evans was one of 28 people allegedly behind a drug trafficking “network” involving heroin and meth who were arrested after the 12-month-long Operation Uniform Sandri.

A police prosecutor told the court Evans breached the reporting condition of his bail on Saturday, April 20.

“The defendant failed to report and attended the Cleveland Police station the following day,” the prosecutor said.

“The charges are very serious and a conviction should be recorded.’’

Magistrate Kerrie O’Callaghan said Evans had the benefit of bail.

“Don’t abuse it (bail),” she said.

Evan’s matter was adjourned to June 6.

Convictions were recorded.
