Three teen boys have been charged by police and will appear in court after allegedly stealing a Mercedes and attempting a bold, ocean getaway in Redlands.

On April 3 at Cleveland Point, three teens were allegedly chased by police into the ocean after allegedly stealing a silver Mercedes the night before.

Police allege a silver 2015 Mercedes-Benz CLS250 was stolen from an Artemis Ave, Seven Hills address.

A Redlands resident said they saw three teens being chased into the water and then taken out by police and onto the street in handcuffs.

Police said a 14-year-old Blackstone boy was charged with unlawful use of motor vehicle, enter dwelling and commit, assaults occasioning bodily harm and possession of tainted property.

A 15-year-old Inala boy was also charged with one count each of unlawful use of motor vehicle, enter dwelling and commit, assaults occasioning bodily harm and possession of tainted property.

A 16-year-old Springfield boy was charged with two counts of unlawful use of motor vehicle, and one count each of enter dwelling and commit and trespass.

All three are due to appear at Cleveland Children's Court later this month.
