A man has been taken to hospital in a serious condition with burns and emergency services remain on the scene of substantial house fire on Brisbane’s bayside this morning.

A man has been taken to hospital in a serious condition with burns to his arms and legs after a house fire in Birkdale overnight
Emergency crews were called to the home in Strand St about 5.50am.
A man has been transported in a serious condition with burns to his arms and legs and paramedics remain on standby.
A second patient was also transported stable to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital
Three fire crews battled the house that was described as “well involved” in on arrival, before containing the fire by 6am.
It was extinguished by 6.20am, as crews continue to extinguish hotspots and fire investigators to attend later today.
