Experts called to remove 1.8-metre python from among kids’ toys at Ferny Hills home
A Brisbane snake catcher has warned that finding man-sized pythons in kids’ rooms is not at all uncommon in the city after experts removed a scaly visitor from among kids’ toys last night.

A Ferny Hills family discovered a slithering addition to their kids’ toys last night.
Much to their horror a 1.8-metre coastal carpet python was hiding in a child’s room neatly secreted among toys.

Owner of Snake Catchers Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan & Gold Coast Bryan Robinson said his colleague came to the rescue to remove the reptile, the most common type of snake to be found in Brisbane, according the snake removalist.
Mr Robinson said the family’s pet cat received safe harbour in another room during the extraction and confirmed that snakes are found among toys, in children’s rooms with regularity.
“Happens all the time, mate” Mr Robinson said.
According to the snake catcher pythons are renowned for being noisy as they push items around in homes and might be confused for two-legged intruders.
