A snake catcher has had to wrangle a faeces-smeared reptile that crawled out of a household toilet.
Steven Brown from Brisbane North Snake Catchers and Relocation was called to The Gap, in suburban Brisbane, yesterday after a customer walked into their ensuite to find a coastal carpet python (morelia spilota mcdowelli) slithering out of the toilet.

“When I arrived he (the snake) was covered in poo and curled up on the bathroom sink cabinet,” Mr Brown said.
He said the snake would have come up through the sewerage pipes, meaning a resident could have been unlucky enough to have been using the convenience when the snake made its appearance.
“It is possible someone could have been sitting there.”
Snakes sometimes entered sewerage pipes where grates outside houses were not properly secured, he said.
Mr Brown washed the snake with water before releasing it.
“I was almost dry retching. The crappiest job ever”.
